Day 3

Imagine there is a horizontal line,
and that line represents your conscious awareness.

What exists below this line lives within you,
yet you are not aware of it.

What exists above this line lives beyond you,
and you are not aware of it.

This means that the pain within you,
the pain that wants to leave,
must pass through this line.

It must move through your awareness.

You feel it on the way out,
not just on the way in.

And it wants to come out,
it wants to dissipate,
and it will, if you let it.

And life will bring it to the surface,
to your conscious awareness,
if you let it.

But we interfere.

We don’t want to feel that pain.
And we shove it back down.
We numb. We suppress. We repress.

And so it continues to live within us,
until the next thing brings it to the surface.

But if we don’t interfere,
if we allow it,
if we feel it,
we allow it to rise.

We allow it to pass through that line,
and we free ourselves from what has always wanted to be freed.

Remember this,
it comes up to come out.
